Stop doing these 6 things and you will live happier.

We are all doing things in our lives that we should drop immediately in order to live a happier life and be the person we truly want to be. We live in a world where we busy ourselves with being busy leading to feelings of unhappiness. Deep inside we crave to be happy and  search for the secret of happiness, enviously looking  at those who seem to have found  it.

What is their secret then? They have learned to drop these 6 things from their lives and in turn lead happier more enjoyable lives.

These are elements in your life you might already questioned their value and worth but have not taken any measures to ride them from your life. Here are the 6 aspects that you might have to drop to achieve the happiness you desire:

1. Avoid the negative people

We all have negative people around us, once we realise their toxic effect we must just drop them.

Negative people are energy suckers, they suck the life out of you until you get down to their way of thinking. Find a way to drop them from your life, it is rather difficult  when they happen to be your co-workers or family members but you can gradually drop them or stay away from them whenever  possible. Another manner of forcing them out of your life is to counter every negative with a positive approach. This will annoy them and eventually they will be the ones avoid you. Perfect!

2. Stop caring about the mistakes you have made in the past

A majority of people fear making mistakes, but it is through mistakes that you learn and learn to improve.

There are two attitudes towards mistakes; those who live through them and learn not to make the same mistake. And those who allow mistakes to squash and cower.  Success comes only after you made a few mistakes. Not caring about making mistakes is another key to a happier life.

We all make mistakes. Mistakes are like hurdles, some will bring you down and it’s up to you to pick yourself up and keep going or stay on the floor frozen from fear it might happen again. Accept that mistakes are part of life and you will make some more but go from strength to strength and learn from them.

3. Forget the past

The past ,much like mistakes, is there for us to learn from. There is nothing you can do to change the past. The most you can do is make amendments or appologise for something you have done in the past.  Move from dwelling in the past  and start living in the present and make plans for a better and happier future.

4. Stop feeling sorry for yourself

It is good to feel sorry for yourself but only temporarily, you must move on from this feeling as quick as possible.

Give yourself a shake,  get out of that  ‘poor me’ zone  and start heading for ‘happy me’ zone.

Sounds too easy doesn’t it, that’s because it is easy: to remain in the pity zone is a choice!

5. Don’t try to please everyone

It’s impossible, literally impossible, to please everyone, even if you’re the nicest, most splendid, most loveliest, most loving person in the world there’s always someone who will not like you for some reason. Not Everyone is going to like you, this is how the world works.

It’s okay for some people not to like you, and it’s more than okay for you to stop going out of your way to try and please everybody. For one it is futile and exhausting.

Be yourself, and if someone doesn’t like you for being yourself at least you’ll respect yourself for being you.

6. Stop worrying about the future

If you do your best today, your future has already been taken care of. Focus on the present and do your best to make your present one that you are happy with because your future is the accumulation of all your present happiness.
