Vivid Sydney, Festivals Of Light Is Back Again

The Vivid Light, Music & Ideas Festival is a yearly event which illuminates and transforms Sydney’s iconic and urban landmarks like the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Chatswood mall with an amazing art and lights show. It also attracts prominent speakers and musicians from around the world.

The award-winning Vivid Sydney festival; with more than 60 light art installations, the coolest new musical collaborations and inspirational ideas from the world’s leading innovators is now in full swing once again.

From 22 May to 8 June, it’s one of the best times to be in Sydney as it pulses to the beat of music; amazing and inspirational speakers; and stunning, beautiful and breathtaking art and lights show. It is back bigger and better than ever in 2015 and the crowds are flocking to see the spectacular art installations that have been made by great, creative artists.

During this time Sydney iconic landmarks and urban spaces are transformed by 3D projections of creative use of light, music and ideas. Lighting artists from around the world were invited to submit their creative ideas, with 140 chosen from 16 countries to create their unique works during Vivid Sydney.

Vivid Music showcases performances and collaborations of over 90 performances including – Grace Jones, Sufjan Stevens, and The Hoodoo Gurus among many more.

Vivid Ideas brings audiences, 400 speakers including Mathew Weiner – series Creator and Executive Producer of Mad Men, and formerly executive producer and writer on The Sopranos. He’s at Vivid Sydney to share insights into creating iconic characters and telling unforgettable stories. Alex Gibney is one of the world’s most prolific and controversial film-makers. Gibney is behind the most contentious documentaries including We Steal Secrets: The Story of Wikileaks, which took a comprehensive look at WikiLeaks, Julian Assange and Chelsea Manning. Gibney joins us for this exclusive discussion, exploring the nature of telling complex, real world stories.
