Alternative Workouts to Try This Summer

Do regular workouts bore you? Do you want to try something new and exciting? If you don’t like going to the gym and lifting weights, but want to stay fit, you have to find workouts that are perfect for shaping your body and fun at the same time. Fortunately, there are a lot of them, you just probably have not heard of them yet. Here are some trendy workouts that’ll put a smile on your face and help you trim some fat at the same time:

Bouldering

Alternative workouts to try this summer - Indoor climbing in the bouldering gym wall.

Bouldering is a sport that doesn’t require any special kind of equipment. Basically, bouldering is rock climbing stripped down to its raw essentials. Put your shoes on, rub some chalk on your hands, and beat that rock! If you become good at bouldering, you might even get a chance to compete at the Olympics. That’s right; climbing is now officially approved for the 2020 Olympics!

Boxing

While boxing is not a new thing by any means, it’s becoming popular again, thanks to some fitness trainers. Boxing is great because it gets all your muscles moving, and it’s basically a mix of cardio and strength training. Since you’ll probably need a sparring partner, there’s a chance you’ll meet new and exciting people at the gym, so that comes as a big plus.

Meditation

Calming down your nerves is equally important as getting rid of stress through working out. Meditation can reduce stress and improve health, according to Medicine Net. Don’t think that meditation is easy, though. Some meditation positions can be tough on your body, but the relief you’ll feel after them is like making a little trip to heaven.

Dancing

Have you ever tried dancing swing or salsa? Believe us; it’s hard. Dancing provides a stem workout, and your body will burn calories quickly while you’re shaking your hips. It’s also great for improving posture and promotes excellent breathing. Of course, it’s impossible to dance without smiling, so you can count on having loads of fun while dancing!

Skateboarding

Have you ever seen a fat skateboarder? That’s right; you did not. That’s because skateboarding is great for burning fat and making all your muscles work. The only thing you’ll need for this workout is a board. Fortunately, living on the smallest continent has its advantages, and you can find great longboards in Australia. Buy one for yourself, hit the streets, and sweat the stress and fat off in no time.

Piloxing

Alternative workouts to try this summer- Piloxing

Piloxing? That’s not a word, is it? Well, it is now. Piloxing was created by Swedish dancer and trainer Viveca Jensen, and this technique combines Pilates moves, sexy dance moves, and boxing moves to sculpt your body while giving you an incredibly intense workout. This workout has worked for a couple of Victoria’s Secret models, and it’s the real deal.

Krav Maga

Some martial arts are fun, and Krav Maga is one of them. If you want to burn calories while getting rid of stress quickly, this is exactly what you’re looking for. Krav Maga was adopted in 1948 by the Israeli Defense Forces as the official method of self-defense, and since then, people have sung its praises. This martial art offers a full-body workout while teaching you unique and useful ways for fighting off an attacker. Hopefully, you’ll never need to do this, but being prepared for it can be an advantage.

Aerial Yoga

Aerial Yoga

If you love yoga but are getting bored by it, try doing aerial yoga. Let your inner yogi meet the acrobat who’s also hidden inside you. The greatest thing about this workout is that you don’t have to worry about your joints at all since you’ll be enveloped in soft fabric at all times.

You’ll trim your belly and tone your body much more quickly if you’re having fun while working out. Don’t be afraid to try new and exciting exercises and find the one that works for you!
