Frozen 2 Trailer explores why Elsa was born with mythic powers

Disney released a new trailer today for the animated sequel Frozen. Frozen 2 explores why Elsa was born with mythic powers that are now threatening her kingdom. But the past, she soon finds out, is not always what it seems.

Will Elsa’s powers help her save her kingdom?

Frozen 2 will have Elsa (Idina Menzel) venture beyond Arendelle to embark on a dangerous journey with her sister Anna (Kristen Bell), a friendly snowman Olaf (Josh Gad) and an iceman named Kristoff (Jonathan Groff).

They must together travel into the unknown up North, past the borders of Arendelle, when their kingdom is once again in danger.

Directors Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, along with songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez are all returning for Frozen 2.

The first Frozen was a huge success generating over 1.3 billion in ticket sales including two Oscars.

Frozen 2 arrives in Australian cinemas on December 26.
