Fondly nicknamed “The Valley of the Sun”; Phoenix, Arizona is a great vacation spot for tourists and vacationers looking to escape the frostier weather of their home states. This makes it popular with retirees, too. Little do people know that this seemingly idyllic state is also packed with activities. That appeal to people of all walks of life. 1. Relax and unwind

Phoenix is home to world-renown spas. The state is so proud of them that there is even a listing of all the spas in the region on the state’s tourism website. Each resort has its own special feature; one has an adult-only penthouse pool, another has a spa that boasts of rejuvenating wraps and rubs. All these spas are set in the midst of the state’s beautiful plains and deserts, offering stunning views to spa-goers.

2. Shop ’til you drop

Shopping is a popular activity with most of the visitors to Phoenix. The state hosts a few sprawling malls that not only offers a respite from the heat but also offer a unique shopping experience. If huge commercial structures aren’t your thing, take to the city streets. You might be surprised to find that there are plenty of souvenir shops in Phoenix, AZ, that cater to the discerning shopper.

3. Hike up Camelback Mountain

Fans of historic architecture can visit old ranch houses built that was built in the early 50s. These styles of homes are unique to American Culture.  Walking through these halls would fill you with a real sense of pride in place.

Finally, you and your posse can drop by the Heard Museum. Flanked by sweeping outdoor courtyards and gardens. The museum’s galleries are home to hundreds of contemporary and traditional works of Native Americans.
