Oscar-winning actor Reese Witherspoon took to Instagram posting a video of herself floating across a pool with a caption ‘It’s true…#LegallyBlonde3’. With this clever Instagram video post, Reese Witherspoon confirms Legally Blonde 3 is happening.

It’s been 15 years since the last LegallyBlonde2: Red, White & Blonde and now it looks like we’re about to be braced with another chapter of the iconic Elle Woods life. Reese Witherspoon is to reprise her role as the idealistic and iconic Elle Woods in Legally Blonde 3. A role that propelled her into one of the biggest and most powerful names in Hollywood.
While there are no hints about the plot yet for the third instalment. If you go with the clues of the last film, Ms Woods has her sights on the White House.
Considering today’s charged political climate, especially in America, it will be interesting to see how Elle navigates in the era of President Trump and #MeToo.
Witherspoon is rumoured to be co-producing this long-awaited third film through her media company Hello Sunshine. What will make this third film interesting is the fact that Witherspoon’s company mission states it “celebrates women and puts them at the centre of the story” and exists to “shine a light on where women are at right now and those that help chart a new path forward”.
For this and many other reasons, this should make this third film worth watching.
