Smooth and Shiny: Getting your Hair Ready for Wedding Day

Usually, hair care isn’t on the top of your beauty to-do-list. You’re often more committed to skincare treatments. But when it comes to your wedding day, it’s not enough. If you want to look your best, from walking down the aisle to taking group photos with the maids of honour, you should also focus on taking care of your hair. But how do you go about it? Should you book an appointment at the nearest salon? If you do that, you’ll be putting your hair through harsh chemical treatments. If you really want smooth and shiny hair, here are the most effective homemade treatments. Smooth and shiny: getting your hair ready for your wedding day with some homemade treatments.

Conditioning

Dry hair is your worst enemy. It’s more vulnerable to harsh factors and makes your hair frizzy and dull. The best way to fix it is to use a deep dry hair treatment to seal the moisture in your strands. What’s more, with everyday ingredients you can easily whisk up homemade treatments. Mix two tablespoons of honey, 4 tablespoons of olive oil and have a shower cap ready. While honey seals moisture in the hair’s shaft, olive oil helps with hydration. Divide your hair into sections and apply the mix. Once you’re done, put on the shower cap and leave it on for 30 minutes. Clean your hair with a sulphate-free cleanser and apply a standard conditioner to your ends. Rinse the conditioner after 10 minutes. It’s a highly efficient technique for smoothing hair.

Trimming

Split ends are a disaster for any bride-to-be. They’re the result of your hair’s cuticle being damaged, and they can easily run up the hair’s shaft, causing even more damage. Your hair won’t only feel brittle, but it’ll also become frizzy. The best solution is to get your hair trimmed every 2 months and check your hair for split ends before your wedding day. Use leave-in Argan oil on the ends of your hair to promote moisturizing.

Avoiding Chemicals

Whenever you’re washing or styling your hair you should use chemical-free products. The same goes for the day before your wedding. Try to wash your hair with organic shampoos and style with very mild mousses and hairspray. Before blow-drying your hair, make sure you apply a protective layer of special spray. It’ll help protect your hair’s cuticle against the high temperature of the dryer. It would be even better if you left your hair dry naturally.

Use Non-Aggressive Hair Dyes

When you’re thinking of revitalizing your hair colour, choose a hair-dye that is free of aggressive agents. Use ammonia-free dye and hair colour. It guarantees long-lasting and soft colouring from root to end. You’ll find a variety of shades available on the market, which is carefully designed and crafted to suit every preference. They’re peroxide-free products, which nourish your hair, leaving it smooth and shiny.

Keratin Infusion

Keratin protein hair treatment is perfect to boost your hair’s health. Despite the myth that keratin protein hair treatments can straighten your hair, they do make it softer, smoother and more manageable. You can easily prepare homemade keratin protein masks such as egg yolk, almond oil, and honey packs or avocado-banana hair treatment. To prepare the egg yolk, almond oil and honey pack you should mix 1 egg yolk, 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 tablespoon of almond oil in a bowl and let them sit for up to 3 minutes. Apply the mixture to your hair and rinse after about 20 minutes, using a mild shampoo. On the other hand, the avocado-banana mask adds extra protein to your hair follicles to make it smooth and shiny. You’ll need 1 banana, 1 avocado and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. The first step is to mash the bananas and add the other ingredients. Mix until you get a smooth paste and apply it to your hair. Leave it in for up to 45 minutes and wash with a mild shampoo. Apply either mask twice a week for the best results.
