THE ONLY GUIDE TO SHOE ORGANISATION YOU’LL EVER NEED

Shoes can be one of the hardest things to keep organised and tidy. They seem to have a mind of their own and often end up at the bottom of your bed or scattered somewhere in your wardrobe. It doesn’t have to be this way! With a few simple tips and tricks, you can learn how to organise your shoes like a pro.  Here is the only guide to shoe organisation you’ll ever need.

Here are some tips to get you started:

  1. Invest in some good quality storage boxes or cabinets. This will help keep your shoes tidy and dust-free.

There are a few things to keep in mind when choosing storage boxes for your shoes. First, you want to make sure that the boxes are big enough to fit your shoes. Second, you want to make sure that the boxes are breathable. “This will keep your shoes from getting musty and will allow your shoes to air out after you wear them,” says Adrian owner of My Building Inspector.

Plastic boxes are a durable and versatile option as you can store shoes under the bed or even display them on a shelf. If you’re after a more stylish option, opt for a shoe cabinet. “If you can close a door or put them in a cabinet, that’s always going to help with the visual clutter,” says interior stylist Naomi Brand. It will also keep them dust-free.

2. Sort your shoes into categories, such as heels, sneakers, boots etc. This will make it easier to find the pair you are looking for.

A common way to organise your shoes is by occasion, for example, for work, nights out, gym days or special occasions. You can also get specific and store them by activity. Store your sandals with your beach gear and your snow boots with your winter coats.

3. Keep your most worn shoes at the front of your storage space so you can easily grab them.

If you’re always looking for your favourite, most comfortable wide fit shoes because they are at the back of your closet, it’s time for a change. Keep your most worn shoes in a more accessible location so you don’t have to dig around to find your desired pair of shoes.

4. Store seasonal shoes in a different place from your everyday footwear.

Consider the climate where you live. If you live in a warm climate, you’ll want to keep your summer shoes on hand year-round. Conversely, if you live in a cooler climate, you may want to store your summer shoes away during the winter months.

5. Don’t be afraid to get rid of shoes that you no longer wear.

It can be tough to let go of shoes that hold sentimental value but if they are collecting dust or you haven’t worn them in a year, it’s time to say goodbye! Alternatively, you can donate them to charity and give them a new home. Give them to a friend or family member. Sell them online to make a few extra bucks.

With these tips, you’ll be able to keep your shoes organised and tidy with ease. Once you have a system for storing your shoes, it’s important to keep them organized. This means putting away your shoes after you wear them and not letting them pile up in a corner. A little bit of effort now will save you a lot of time and frustration down the road.
