‘You are your worse critic’
‘You are your worse critic’
You’ve heard of this expression ‘you are your worse critic’. We are all a bit self-conscious about something. Maybe we think we are a bit overweight, a bit out of shape, not tall enough, or we think our nose is too big. We often think this is exactly what others think of us too.
Watch this video below and discover the truth about that assumption. The people who are sharing what they don’t like about themselves do not know that all along there are stranger on the other side of the mirror:
:
A few days later, the participants were asked to come back and were shown footage of the stranger’s first impressions.
Your own construction of yourself is not the same as a stranger’s of yourself. It seems we look at our body flaws first and over emphasise them to the extent we forget about positive aspects of our bodies.
As one girl in this video says: “we are stuck in our bodies till the day we die, why be mean to our bodies?”
You are enough and you need to be kinder to yourself. Everyone has imperfections… Just accept it how it is. Sometimes as we seen in the video it is the things we feel insecure about, like our cheekbones, or dimples, that strangers find most charming.
It might be a good idea to watch this video from time to time as a reminder that we are probably being too harsh with ourselves.
