Power outages often occur without warning. Sometimes the reason for the loss of electricity is obvious, like a thunderstorm or tornado. Other times, the power may go out and leave you with no idea why it happened. This can be stressful when you are stuck in the dark. Here are a few reasons power outages can occur. External Power Outages

These power outages are frustrating. They are beyond your control, and there is little you can do but sit and wait for the power company. Some of the main causes of external power outages are:

1. Bad Weather

Storms, bushfires, floods, and lightning can all cause power outages. When nature disrupts the power supply, there is nothing you can do but wait for the power company to respond to the outage.

2. Animals

Most equipment is protected against animals, and although it is rare, it is still possible for the occasional snake or rodent to get into a box and short circuit the power.
