Looking at the world through the lenses of cameras, is a work of love, patience and dedication. Photographers across the globe in the past ten years have submitted million of stunning photos to compete in the Sony World of Photography.

These photographers endeavour to capture our world beyond our imagination. Our world is filled with mysteries and beauty, beauty that is constant and fleeting. To experience this beauty on a daily basis makes us a very privileged race, but to capture this beauty forever only a few are gifted to do. Giving rise to stunning photos from Sony World Of Photography, a competition where photographers from across the globe participate to showcase their skills.

The Sony World Photography Awards is the largest photo competition in the world and is celebrating its first decade.

Competitors can enter one of four competitions – Professional, Open, Youth and Student Focus.

The national Award, under OPEN, where 66 countries worldwide enter is one of the most popular competitions. In this competition, photographers are judged against others from their country of origin, regardless of which of the 10 categories the photo was submitted. They can compete across these 10 categories; including –  Architecture, Culture, Enhanced, Motion, Nature, Portraits, Still Life, Street Photography, Travel and Wildlife.

There are 66 qualifying countries and awards are given to first, seconds and third place winners. Sony announced its winners for 2017 — and their work is remarkably striking.

Below are the 10 amazing images selected from its Open categories and National Awards scheme and they are stunning.

In the tenth anniversary of the award the open category winners were gifted a trip to London and a $5,000 cash prize.
