Business Process Outsourcing To The Philippines

The Philippines has surpassed India as the world’s leading contact centre outsourcing destination. Taking the lead in 2010, the nation has been growing the industry even more since that change documented in more detail by the New York Times. However, there is more than just contact centre outsourcing involved here. Outsourcing does not just involve paying people to answer phones. There is a lot more to it than that, with services providing voice-based functions, but also many non-voice functions. We can narrow the categories down to a primary five. Business process outsourcing to the Philippines.

1. Contact Centre Outsourcing

This is what most people imagine when they think about outsourcing. It usually involves customer care, technical support, customer acquisition, and other personnel to consumer-based communication services. Many organizations in the Philippines are involved in this category because the demand is high.

2. Business Process Outsourcing

BPO involves Facilities and Administrative Rate (F&A), Logistics, Human resources, and other project management related needs. It is currently up for debate whether or not the Philippines will remain on top in this category. An analyst named Karim Raslan predicted a few months ago that India would take the lead in BPO jobs. However, only time will tell if his assessment is correct. For now, the top outsourcing providers in the Philippines are preventing India from taking that lead.

3. Knowledge Process Outsourcing

KPO is outsourcing that usually requires business analytics or litigation expertise. The aid provided to legal staff from outsourcing agencies is invaluable, not just because of the financial savings from a business perspective, but because it ensures that any given legal case is being given the proper attention. The judicial system operates on the assumption that everyone is doing their best work; KPO services help to make that a reality.

4. IT Outsourcing

Software development, programming, and other expert computer engineering tasks that are a cut above technical support solutions are handled by this category. AMEX, for example, has a large software development centre based in Manila. The Philippines are a hotspot of ground floor computer software and web development.

5. Animation Outsourcing

The animation is often outsourced by large corporations. In fact, many of everyone’s favourite Disney movies have been produced in the Philippines. The supervising animator of the hit movie Coco was Gini Santos, a talented woman from the Philippines who also worked on some of the most famous 3D animated films of all time, including toy Story 2, Finding Nemo, A Bug’s Life, Monster’s Inc., The Incredibles, and Up. Other animations have been outsourced to many other talented individuals from the Philippines too.

These are the five main categories of the types of business process outsourcing work in which the Philippines regularly excels. However, there are other niche markets that have been tapped into. For example, directory assistance tasks are not the most prevalent or common, but they are still routinely fulfilled by outsourcing organizations, like Piton-Global, in the Philippines. While 90% of the services provided in the Philippines are English-based outsourcing jobs, there are also many that involve multilingual support, and many that directly support organizations in other Asian or European languages. Outsourcing to the Philippines not only makes financial sense, but it is also the ideal one-stop shopping location to find business process outsourcing services for any of the categories mentioned before… and more.
