Hangovers Get Worse As You Get Older

Remember the days when you’d party and drink all night and the next day you were ready for more? Ahh, yes the Good Ol’ Days!

Lately, you’ve noticed your hangovers are getting worse and no it’s not your imagination.

Do hangovers get worse as you get older?

Unfortunately, they do and there is an explanation for it.

There are both physiological and psychological reasons to explain why your hangovers are much worse than they used to be.

The main reason your hangovers worsen with age is simply because our bodies become less efficient at processing alcohol as we get older

This leaves a chemical called acetaldehyde in the body longer and that’s what causes your nausea and headaches.

Watch this video by Business Insider to find out what other factors are contributing to you feeling worse after a night drinking as you get older.

There are things you can do to ease the symptoms.

The good news is that you don’t have to spend the next day hunched over a toilet if you put some thought before you go out on your big night out.

Researchers found that what you eat before, during and after you drink could drastically reduce your risk of a morning hangover. So hydrate, eat well and rest and your hangover will go.
