How to Get Rid of Couch Stains

You are back in your lovely home, the meal is ready, your favourite series has finished downloading and all seem well. You slouch back o your couch and prepare to unwind and start binging. A few of your wine spills. There are stains from the sauce. Also, there are stains from God knows what. Without breaking the bank or your back, there are ways to fix this and we are about to share them with you. How to get rid of couch stains properly.

1. All-natural

Treating your couch with some random solution that you think is best can only cause more harm than good. It can damage the material, and the fumes can affect your health. Without any trouble, you can concoct a 100% natural and cheap cleaning solution from mundane items in your home. Mix equal parts water and white vinegar in a bucket or a container, and voila, you are ready to start cleaning. Microfiber cloths are best for this, so dip them inside and make them wet, not damp. Then it’s time to thoroughly scrub that poor and neglected couch. Once you are done, you can use a different, dry microfiber cloth and dry it, or you can let it dry out naturally.

2. Pros to the rescue

Why go thru all the hustle and trouble when other people can do the job for you? Outsourcing this endeavour leaves you with more time to devote to other, more meaningful tasks. Pros have the experience, specialised tools and sheer manpower to get the job done in no time. Besides your couch, carpet and upholstery cleaning can also be on the list.

Professional services offer a great discount on the more surfaces and objects you want clean. You can take a look at your couch and then expand from there. The floor, windows, tables, carpets and other items could surely use a fresh start. People are usually concerned about the cost, but when you put it all on paper, and factor in the time, energy and expenses you will have, you will soon come to realise that hiring someone to help you more than pays for itself.

3. Steam vacuuming

Modern vacuum cleaners come in all shapes and sizes. You have the one where you can mix water with cleaning products or even with an option for steam cleaning. These products can be very effective for different types of stains. First, dry out the stain with some tissue paper. Then you can start a slow and thorough vacuuming of the couch. Don’t forget and apply the extra effort to reach all the nooks and crannies. The area underneath the couch contains most of the dirt and lost bits of food. With a bit of persistence and repeating the process, steam vacuuming and/or water will lessen or completely remove the stain.

4. A different method for different surfaces

Your couch can have parts made from other materials like wood, and you should not ignore these facts. What works for one type of material does not necessarily mean it’s ideal for the other. Preferential treatment of all parts with specialised cleaning products does wonders in keeping them all nice and clean. Not to mention, that such a cleaning practice prolongs the couch’s life and usability.

While it may seem like a hustle at first, preparation goes a long way in making this less of a chore and more of an amusement. Treat your couch as different territories that you need to conquer, and then you can approach each area with a different mindset. Just as different types of clothes need different cleaning methods, the same applies to your couch.

Living in a nice and clean home is everyone’s goal. There is no denying that it requires work, but if you do it regularly and do not let it pile up, it’s not that difficult. When you view the state of your living space as an extension of your mental state, it soon becomes obvious why it should be as clean as possible. We wish you all the best in this endeavour.
