4 Hair Care Habits to Adopt

A head full of hair is one of the first things that people see when they look at you because it’s on top. If you’re dealing with a bad hair day, your go-to solution would be to tie it up in a ponytail or bun and to hide it inside a cap. But what if you found out that you can keep your hair looking healthy and vibrant all the time? Here are 4 hair care habits to adopt.

1. Stop Over-washing Your Hair

If you’re washing your hair with shampoo every day, or sometimes even twice in one day, you need to stop. This is because washing your hair can remove the dirt from your scalp, but it can also strip all the natural oils and nutrients that it secretes, which can make your hair lacklustre. The more you wash your hair with shampoo, the fewer nutrients it can absorb.

Overwashing your hair could be the reason your hair is drier than ever. This is an unhealthy habit that can damage your hair strands and hinder them from repairing themselves. So, unless you need to wash your hair, only shampoo once every two to three days because that’s how often you should be doing it.

2. Anticipate Possibility of Hair Loss

Losing hair can be a sign of aging. As you grow older, the natural processes in your body will inevitably slow down. These processes can include keratin production, which is the protein responsible for making your hair strong and repairing signs of damage. So, because the keratin production is slowing down, your hair can become more brittle and weaker over time.

It’s normal to experience hair fall because they follow a growth cycle-it begins with the growth of the hair strand, the growth slows down to a stop, and then the strand detaches itself from the follicle. This is a cycle that continues from the cradle to the grave unless you develop a condition that intervenes with the process.

This means that it’s okay to lose a few strands every time you brush your hair. However, if you’re experiencing heavy hair fall or loss, it might be indicative of a more serious underlying issue. But if it isn’t, you might still want to use the herbal anti-hair-fall shampoo to fight against eventual hair loss.

3. Keep Your Styling to a Minimum

It’s always nice to style your hair because it offers a change in your appearance. You might prefer using hair products, such as gels, mousse, or hairspray if you want the style to last throughout the day. And you’ll probably use styling tools like blow dryers, straightening irons, or even curlers to achieve the style you want to have.

However, you need to keep in mind that although the styles may be temporary, the damage they can leave will be permanent. This means that you should try to minimize how often you use heated styling tools or chemical hair products because it can permanently damage your healthy hair.-

Aside from styling tools, another culprit that can cause permanent damage is hair dying. Since you need to cause a chemical reaction to achieve the colours you want, you will constantly have to expose your hair to the chemicals found in your bleach, dye, or treatment. So, if your hair is becoming dull or damaged, you might want to keep the styling to a minimum.

4. Get Rid of Your Split Ends

Everything you do to your hair will have consequences. This means that if you always use styling tools, colour your hair, over-brush, or apply hair products, then it can cause eventual damage in the form of split ends. And although split ends aren’t harmful, they can be a sight for sore eyes because they look like splayed rope.

Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of split ends is to cut them off. You can’t repair split ends because they’re not like yarn that you can just glue together. Instead, you can avoid having split ends is to regularly get a haircut or trim at least once every two months. This way, you can keep your hair looking healthy and bouncy.

You can also limit your use of chemical hair products because this can contribute to the damage. Or if you live in a particularly cold region, you might want to protect your hair with a leave-in conditioner because the freezing temperatures can make your hair more brittle and weaker.

It’s not that hard to keep your hair healthy; all you have to do is avoid falling back into your unhealthy habits and stay away from anything that can damage your hair. But if you don’t have a choice in the matter, you should at least compensate by spending more time and effort caring for your hair.
